Echocardiogram (ECHO)

Echocardiograms use sound waves to map out the shape and size of the heart. This allows doctors to see how well the heart pumps blood and to look for abnormalities of the heart valve and chambers.

Infinity Primary Care's Diagnostic Testing Center offers two types of echocardiograms:

  • Two-dimensional Echocardiogram with Doppler: This produces pictures of the direction and speed of blood flow through the heart.
  • Stress Echocardiogram (exercise echo): This combines a cardiac ultrasound study with an exercise stress test to allow doctors to see how the heart functions when it is made to work harder.

Infinity Primary Care is accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) for echocardiography. Infinity's advanced technology and registered technologists provide high quality images.

Cardiologists, who are experts in interpreting radiologic cardiology examinations, will analyze your echocardiogram images and send a signed report to your primary care physician or the physician who referred you for the exam within 24-48 hours. Your physician will discuss the results with you.
