BiographyDr. Kumar specializes in Internal Medicine, a specialty dedicated to the care of men and women from young adulthood through senior years. He received his M.D. degree from Patna Medical College, India. He completed both his internship and residency training at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers in 2003. He received his board certification in 2003.
Dr. Kumar's primary focus is on preventive care, but he also offers care during hospital stays. He strongly encourages his patients to take an active part in their health care and make any final decisions on their care as a team. He has a special interest in diabetes, heart failure, and high cholesterol management.
Dr. Kumar has been actively training and mentoring medical students and residents since 2003. He is currently Clinical Assistant Professor at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
Dr. Kumar's professional affiliations include the American College of Physicians. He received his fellowship from the American College of Physicians in 2009.
