BiographyDr. Jeffrey Paul Yanez was born and raised in Southeast Michigan. He is married with one child. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Oakland University in 1984. He graduated from St. Georges University School of Medicine in 1988 and completed four years of residency in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 1993. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is dual board certified and recertified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He has devoted his entire career to primary patient care, graduate medical and student education. His personal goal is to provide the student and resident physician with the opportunity to achieve their personal career objectives. He strives to provide the educational experiences that balance didactic instruction and education through direct patient care.
Dr. Yanez has 18 years of graduate medical education and administrative experience as Associate Program Director, Program Director and Medical Director for Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Transitional and Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Programs. In addition, he has worked as an emergency medicine and urgent care physician, hospitalist, pediatrician and internist in both employed and private practice environments. His medical interests include primary care prevention, adolescent medicine and the use of evidence-based medicine to make medical decisions.
